How it works

Who is covered: Anyone who bought a paid plan (Single State or Complete) with their own account, on the web or in the app.
To qualify, all of these must be true
You completed the program for your state before your test
You answered at least 95% of your state’s practice questions at least once, reached an Exam Readiness score of 80% or higher, and passed at least one full mock exam.
Your latest mock-exam pass was recent
Your most recent mock-exam pass was no more than 30 days before your official test date.
Your plan was active and covers that state
You took the official test while your plan was active, in a state your plan covers.
It was your first failed attempt
It was your first failed attempt after meeting these requirements.
You claim within 30 days, with official proof
You submit a claim within 30 days after the test, from the account that made the purchase, with official proof of the result: the DMV/DPS score sheet, receipt or result notice showing the test date and that you did not pass. Unofficial documents are not accepted.
What’s not covered
- More than one guarantee refund per person or account.
- Family-sharing seats, gifted plans, free or 100%-discount plans, and test purchases.
- A retake taken without meeting the requirements again, or a retake you pass. After either, the guarantee no longer applies.
- Unofficial documents as proof of your result.
What you get back
What you actually paid for your plan (after any discount), minus any earlier refund. Paid access ends when the refund is issued.
How to claim
- Sign in at app.mypermitpass.com/app/guarantee. The page shows your progress toward eligibility and the claim form.
- Upload your official result and submit the claim within 30 days after your test, from the account that made the purchase.
- Your study record is checked automatically and a person reviews your proof. Claims are reviewed weekly; you’ll get a decision by email within 7 days.
How the refund is paid
Card, PayPal or Venmo
We refund the original payment method directly. Banks usually post it in 5–10 business days.
App Store
Apple processes App Store refunds, so we can’t issue them ourselves. We approve your claim and email you step-by-step instructions to request the refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple makes the final decision.
Google Play
Google controls Google Play refunds. We approve your claim and request the refund through Google Play. Google makes the final decision.
Because Apple and Google decide on store refunds, we can’t promise a store refund. If Apple or Google declines it, we extend your access free for 6 more months instead. Just tell us from your claim page or reply to our email.
Pass Guarantee questions
Does this mean you guarantee I’ll pass?
No. Your state runs the exam and we don’t control it. The Pass Guarantee is a refund promise: if you complete our program, meet the terms and still don’t pass your official knowledge test, we refund 100% of what you paid for your plan.
Which plans include the Pass Guarantee?
Both paid plans: Single State ($24.99, 6 months) and Complete ($39.99, 12 months), bought with your own account on the web or in the app. Free plans, gifted plans, family-sharing seats, 100%-discount plans and test purchases are not covered.
How do I know if I’m on track to qualify?
Sign in and open the guarantee page in the app. It shows your progress toward eligibility: how many of your state’s practice questions you’ve answered, your Exam Readiness score, and whether you’ve passed a full mock exam.
How long does a claim take?
Claims are reviewed weekly, and you’ll get a decision by email within 7 days. For card, PayPal or Venmo purchases, banks usually post the refund 5–10 business days after we issue it.
I bought in the App Store or on Google Play. What happens?
Apple and Google control refunds for store purchases, so the store refund isn’t guaranteed. We approve your claim and do our best to get it through: for the App Store we email step-by-step instructions to request it at reportaproblem.apple.com, and for Google Play we request it through Google Play. If the store declines, we extend your access free for 6 more months instead.
Can I claim more than once?
No. There is one guarantee refund per person and per account, and paid access ends when the refund is issued.
