What is My Permit Pass?
My Permit Pass is an online DMV permit test prep platform. You get 600+ real-style practice questions per state, full practice exams that mirror the official test, and an AI tutor that explains every answer — all based on your state's official driver handbook.
Which states do you support?
We currently support California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Arizona, New Jersey, Georgia, Nevada, Alaska, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington. Each state has its own question bank built from that state's official driver handbook.
How much does it cost?
One payment, no subscription: $24.99 for a single state or $39.99 for all states. Both include 6 months of full access — every practice question, full exams, and the AI tutor. There are no recurring fees.
Is there a free version?
Yes. You can take a free practice test for your state without creating an account, and try our 3-question demo right on the homepage. The free test gives you a real feel for the question style before you decide.
Which languages are available?
English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Russian. Every practice question, explanation, and the AI tutor work in all five languages — so you can study in the language you think in.
What is the AI tutor?
The AI tutor explains why an answer is right or wrong, in plain language, using your state's driver handbook as its source. Miss a question about right-of-way? It walks you through the rule so you actually understand it — not just memorize it.
Are the questions like the real DMV test?
Yes. Our questions are modeled on each state's official driver handbook — the same material the real test is drawn from — and are updated in 2026 to each state’s most recent handbook edition. Practice exams match the length and passing score of your state's actual test.
Do I need to download an app?
No. My Permit Pass runs in your browser on any device — phone, tablet, or computer. Your progress syncs automatically across devices when you're signed in.
How long do I get access?
6 months from the day you purchase — plenty of time to prepare, take the test, and retake it if needed. There's nothing to cancel because there's no subscription.
