My Permit Pass ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at mypermitpass.com and any associated study tools.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account details such as name, email address, and password (on our application platform)
• Payment information processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers
• Messages you send through our contact form or support channels

• Device and browser type, operating system, IP address, and general location (country/region)
• Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and interaction data (clicks, practice-test progress)

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use the following tracking technologies on our site:

• Essential cookies: Required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your language preference). These cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors navigate the site so we can improve it. We may use Google Analytics or similar tools for this purpose.
• Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel): We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Pixel sends information about your page views and interactions on our site to Meta. • Google tag (Google Analytics / Google Ads): We use the Google tag, a tracking technology provided by Google LLC. It sends information about your page views and interactions on our site to Google. We use this data for site analytics and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, including Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. Google may associate this data with your Google account depending on your settings. Google's use of this information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Both of these advertising tools are optional and load only after you accept them in our cookie consent banner. If you decline (or ignore) the banner, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, they stay off.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain site features such as language preferences. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal for users in jurisdictions where it is legally recognized.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Account data is generally retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations. Analytics data is retained in aggregated or anonymized form.

7. California and U.S. state privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you additional rights beyond those listed above.

Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months we have collected: identifiers (name, email, IP address); commercial information (purchase history); internet/network activity (browsing behavior on our site); and geolocation (country/region-level). We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA (e.g., Social Security numbers, precise geolocation, financial account credentials).

Right to opt out of sharing for advertising

California residents have the right to opt out of the "sharing" of their personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we use the Meta Pixel and the Google tag, which transmit browsing data to Meta and Google for advertising purposes, this right applies to our site. To opt out:

• Enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a supported browser — we honor this signal for CA residents.

• Use Meta's own ad opt-out: Meta Ad Preferences.

Other California rights

• Right to know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our business purpose, and the third parties we share it with.
• Right to delete: You may request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• No discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.
• Authorized agents: You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf by providing written authorization.

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights under their respective laws. We apply the same request and response process.

8. Children

Our service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that is reasonably likely to cause harm to affected individuals, we will notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities as required by applicable state and federal law. Notification will occur within the timeframes required by law (typically 30–72 hours for regulators; 30–45 days for individuals, depending on jurisdiction).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
