Billing Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This Billing Policy describes how payments, subscriptions, refunds, and plan access work for My Permit Pass paid features. By purchasing a plan, you agree to this policy.

1. Plans and pricing

We offer free and paid study plans. Current prices are displayed on our Pricing page and at checkout at the time of purchase. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices at any time; price changes apply only to new purchases and future renewal cycles, not to existing active one-time purchases.

2. Payment processing

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider (such as Stripe). By purchasing a plan, you authorize the charge to your selected payment method for the displayed amount plus applicable taxes. We do not store your full credit card number — payment credentials are handled by and stored with our payment processor in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

3. One-time purchases

Some plans are one-time payments that unlock access for a defined scope (e.g., a single state or all current states) for a defined period. Unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout, paid plans provide 6 months of access from the date of purchase and do not automatically renew. When the access period ends, your access to paid features stops unless you purchase again.

4. Subscriptions and auto-renewal

If we offer a subscription-based plan, the following applies:

  • Automatic renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Renewal notice: For annual subscriptions, we will send a reminder notice at least 7 days before your renewal date to the email address on file.
  • Renewal charge: Your payment method on file will be charged at the then-current subscription price on the renewal date.
  • Price changes: If the subscription price changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance of the change taking effect on your renewal.

5. Refunds

We want you to feel confident in your purchase. Our refund terms are as follows:

  • Technical failures: If a technical error on our part prevented you from accessing purchased content, contact us within 30 days and we will issue a full refund or provide equivalent access.
  • General refunds: Outside of the above, payments are generally non-refundable. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge at Contact and we will review your case.
  • Applicable law: Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

6. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us through the Contact page or at support@mypermitpass.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are often able to resolve billing issues quickly and directly. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account access while the dispute is investigated.

7. Cancellations

You may cancel any subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support at support@mypermitpass.com. Cancellation stops all future charges. Access to paid features continues through the end of your current paid billing period — we do not provide partial-period refunds for unused time unless required by law. Cancellation must be completed before your next renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.

In line with FTC guidelines, cancellation is designed to be as easy as signing up: if you signed up online, you can cancel online through your account settings without calling or sending mail.

8. Taxes

Applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes may be added to your purchase based on your location and will be shown at checkout before you confirm payment. Tax rates and applicability are determined at the time of each transaction.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Billing Policy. Material changes — particularly those affecting pricing, auto-renewal, or refund terms — will be communicated to existing subscribers by email or via a notice on the site at least 30 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
