My Permit Pass ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at mypermitpass.com and any associated study tools.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details such as name, email address, and password (on our application platform)
  • Payment information processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers
  • Messages you send through our contact form or support channels

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, operating system, IP address, and approximate location derived from your IP address (country, state and city — not precise location)
  • Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and interaction data (clicks, practice-test progress)
  • Cookies, pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies — see Section 4 for details

2. How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our study tools and personalize your learning experience
  • Process transactions and send order confirmations and receipts
  • Respond to support and contact requests
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve site performance and content accuracy
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing efforts
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share data with trusted vendors (hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery) who process it on our behalf under written data-protection agreements.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: We use third-party tools that receive certain usage and browsing data to help us understand how people use our site and to measure advertising. See Section 4 for specifics.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of My Permit Pass, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: If My Permit Pass is acquired or merges with another entity, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object / restrict: Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent: Where we rely on consent as the legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Contact page or email [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days; complex requests may require up to 90 days with advance notice.

7. California and U.S. state privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you additional rights beyond those listed above.

Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months we have collected: identifiers (name, email, IP address); commercial information (purchase history); internet/network activity (browsing behavior on our site); and approximate geolocation derived from IP addresses (country, state and city-level, not precise geolocation). We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA (e.g., Social Security numbers, precise geolocation, financial account credentials).

Other California rights

  • Right to know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our business purpose, and the third parties we share it with.
  • Right to delete: You may request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • No discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.
  • Authorized agents: You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf by providing written authorization.

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights under their respective laws. We apply the same request and response process.

8. Children

Our service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that is reasonably likely to cause harm to affected individuals, we will notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities as required by applicable state and federal law. Notification will occur within the timeframes required by law (typically 30–72 hours for regulators; 30–45 days for individuals, depending on jurisdiction).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
